Paris Hilton is significantly smarter than she lets on. In between her reality TV shows, a drink driving volation and that infamous sex tape, she gives the impression of not being all there - and you'd not be the first to assume that she's just another ditzy blonde.

But she's done remarkably well. Consider this - Paris doesn't have to make any money at all. Her job description as Heiress basically ensures that she's set for life, and her dad's chain of hotels would keep her in big glasses and tiny dogs as long as she wanted.

But in 2005, she raked in $7 million on her own - and by the looks of it, she didn't have to work too hard to get it, either. She's clearly not just a pretty face, even if a lot of her fame rests on convincing us all that she is.

As well as trying to find a series of best friends through a bunch of reality shows (a process which we can't entirely endorse, but you can't fault her for attempting to use the scientific method in what is normally such a haphazard affair) she's tried her hand at acting, too - most notably the 2005 slash-em-up House of Wax but also putting in an actually-remarkably-good performance in Repo! The Genetic Opera as the psychotic Amber Sweet.

And through all of her bad behaviour and apparent air-headedness, she remains unapologetic, which we entirely respect. She's incredibly divisive and made a career out of being someone that people love to hate - a bit like Jeremy Kyle. But better-looking, obviously.

Amy Jackson

Amy Jackson (born 31 January 1991) is a British model and film actress, who has appeared in Indian feature films. Before starting her acting career, Jackson won the Miss Teen World competition in 2008, and also later finished third in Miss England 2010. She later went on to appear in the successful Tamil period-drama, Madrasapattinam, which won her plaudits for her role.

Released on 9 July 2010, Madrasapattinam was a huge hit of the year 2010. Now, Amy has replaced Trisha Krishnan in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa Hindi remake to be directed by Gautham Menon. With this Amy is entering in to Bollywood Industry. This movie is slated as 2011 Summer release.

Miss Teen World Amy Jackson is making her Kollywood debut in Arya's upcoming Madrasapattinam, a period love story set in pre-Independence era! Then I began looking for a heroine, I happened to see Amy's picture in the Miss Teen World pageant on the Internet. The moment I saw her picture, I knew that she was the person I was looking for. My only concern was whether she would agree to be a part of this project.

We searched all of England for her. In fact, my line producer in England, David Choudhary, after being unable to trace Amy, sent me pictures of 100 other girls to choose from. I told him don't mind looking at the pictures but I want Amy as my film heroine. Finally, we decided to have auditions in London and as luck would have it, Amy walked in on the third day. That was how she came to be part of Madrasapattinam, said Vijay, director of the film.

We always wanted to travel to India. Acting is one of my passions and this film appeared to be the perfect opportunity. When I went for the casting, I wasn't sure if I'll do the movie. But once I heard the storyline and met the director, I was sure I wanted to be part of it. Everyone made me feel welcome, not like how it is in England. I was able to relate with Vijay and we decided that it would be a good move for me to make, Amy said to a leading English daily.

I didn't know what to expect. However, it was a fantastic opportunity and Arya and Alex really helped me settle down. My character is Amy Wilkinson, the 18-year-old daughter of the governor of Madrasapattinam. A problem arises when I fall in love with an Indian boy as it was forbidden back then. My character is that of a kind, genuine person who loves Indians unlike her father and stepmother, she added.

Madrasapattinam is the revolutionary love story (of a Madrasi and a British girl) set in the pre-Independence era. Vijay, who directed Kireedam (Ajith) and Poi Solla Porom will direct this beautiful love story. Nirav Shah is the cinematographer and G.V. Prakash is the music composer. Vijay has elaborate plans to recreate the aura of the British era in India. Kalpathi Agoram, who gave the recent blockbuster Subramaniapuram, produces Madrasapattinam.

We're not massive fans of the VGAs, even though we love games. Problem is that the event is riddled with overblown flash in a tremendously American way – if it was the Brits hosting it, no doubt we'd have tea and crumpets and then a butler would arrive and announce the names of the nominees as they walked in, a bit like the ballroom scene in My Fair Lady but with less Audrey Hepburn. It boils down to three big problems:

1 ) They have an award for “most anticipated game.” What kind of bullshit is that? Should they really be congratulating a game's PR crew for hyping up their game to ridiculous lengths by offering them more hype?

2)As gaming doesn't really have celebrities to hand out the awards, they draft in famous people from other walks of life – like Charlie Sheen, Will.i.am and a variety of other folk – who say something unexciting about games and then move on their way, pocketing their appearance fee.

3 )The event is punctuated with exclusive first looks at trailers for new games, which is nice and all, but really waters down the importance of those awards and highlights how much of a marketing stunt the whole affair is.

Basically they're NOT GREAT. But you know who is great? Felicia Day. Much like our current cover star and all round geek Goddess Olivia Munn, she's a massive nerd BUT unlike most massive nerds who live in basements and eat nothing but Cheetos, she's pretty cute. And she's written and starred in her own sitcom (which was about games, natch, which makes her an excellent host), which is more than we've ever done.

She's pretty much the only decent thing about the awards - so next year, can't we do away with all the trailers and the celebrities and big entrances, and just have Felicia Day sitting quietly in a nice room (there'd be an open fireplace, and she could be wearing a lovely jumper perhaps) and she'd go through the nominations in a gentle voice and we wouldn't have to put up with the cavalcade of nonsense they serve up every year.

You know what? We're being too negative. We're sorry. We're glad that games are being recognised by the mainstream as the HUGE industry that they are, just... maybe not like this, eh?

Sky Sports presenter Georgie Thompson was reportedly arrested for drink driving last weekend.

The 33-year-old was breathalysed by police as she returned to her home in Chelsea, London. She was found to be over the limit and arrested.

"Georgie is utterly devastated as you can imagine. She held her hands up immediately," a source told the paper. "She'd been at a friend's house for lunch and had had a few drinks early on.

"Georgie stopped drinking after a while and when it was time to go home she figured she would be okay. She was not staggering around drunk or anything. If she thought she was drunk she would not have driven."

Thompson, who has worked for Sky Sports News since 2001, was said to be worried about the reaction of her bosses, who she informed of the incident shortly after her release.

The Sky1 A League Of Their Own team captain split from boyfriend Declan Donnelly earlier this year. Speaking in June, she admitted that it was tough to go through a "painful break-up when you're in the public eye".

A spokesperson for Thompson, who will appear in court next month, said: "We can confirm she was pulled over for being over the limit at the weekend."
